Whilst it’s probably not the definitive reason for their success, many successful people have mentioned their routine as a big part of their success.
Remember a daily routine isn’t a guarantee for success but it can put you on the right track.
What a routine allows you to do
It frees up your mind. If you are bogged down continually deciding what you need to do with your day there’s a good chance your day may not work out as effective as you would like. However if you have a handle on how your daily routine should unfold chances are you will be ready to start the day in the right frame of mind and hopefully get more productions out of your day.
How to set up a winning routine
- Start your day the right way
- How you end the day will determine how you start the next one
- Give yourself plenty of time
- Be flexible – sometimes life happens, don’t stress, move on and keep going
- Include meditation or some form of decompression from your day or week
What does a winning routine entail
A routine that works for one person may be terrible for another. You need to find what works for you.
An example routine
Morning
Wake up to 10 mins of visualisation
10 mins of breathing exercises, prayer or meditation
Breakfast, head to work
Evening
Write down how your day went and what you wish to achieve tomorrow.
10 mins of breathing exercises, prayer or meditation
Visualisation/Affirmations
Sleep
Remember the routine has to work for you. For example you may not be a morning person so taking on someone’s routine who wakes up at 4am or 4.30am probably won’t work for you. If you need help with creating a routine, ask yourself what you want to achieve, then map out your time/calendar and plan it out. Take bits of other people’s routines if you have to or if they have achieved something that you are looking to achieve.
